Burst pipe repair
Shut the water off first. Main valve is usually in the basement, crawlspace or garage on the street-facing wall — turn clockwise. In a condo, check under the kitchen sink, behind the toilet, or the laundry closet. Can't find it? Call your building manager or concierge. Then call 604-865-7979.
Why pipes burst here
Three causes account for most of what we see. Freezing in an unheated crawlspace, garage or exterior wall during a cold snap — water expands as it freezes and splits the pipe, and you often don't know until it thaws. Age and material — Poly-B goes brittle, Kitec fittings corrode, old copper develops pinholes, galvanized steel rusts from the inside. Pressure — a failed pressure regulator lets city pressure run unrestricted through pipes not rated for it.
What we do
Stop the water, expose the failure, and assess whether this is an isolated failure or the first of several. That second part matters: with Poly-B and Kitec, one burst usually means the material has reached the end of its life, and repairing the split without saying so would be doing you a disservice.
We repair the section, pressure-test the line, and give you a written report with photos — which your insurer will want.

We stop the leak and repair the pipe. We don't do restoration — drying, drywall, flooring — but we work alongside restoration companies routinely and can point you to ones we've seen do good work. Photograph everything before anything is moved; your insurer will ask.
