The rules for reading and using this website — and how they sit alongside the quote and invoice that actually govern your job.
This page governs the website. The work we do for you is governed by the written quote you accept and the invoice that follows it. Where the two differ, your quote wins.
The most important thing on this page: nothing on this website is your contract with us. Your contract is the written quote you accept and the invoice that follows it. If this page and your quote ever disagree, your quote wins.
That matters because a website has to speak in general terms and a plumbing job never is one. What we can say here is how the two fit together.
Prices shown on this site — cost guides, ranges, examples — are there to give you a realistic idea of what work costs. They are not offers and they are not quotes. A quote is something we give you for your property, after we know what is actually wrong.
Response times we describe, including for emergencies, are the targets we work to. Traffic, weather and the job in front of us are all real. We will tell you honestly when we can get there.
Our workmanship guarantee is set out on our warranty page and repeated on your paperwork. Manufacturer warranties on parts and equipment belong to the manufacturer and are covered by their terms, not ours.
Payment terms, deposits and anything owing are set out on your quote and invoice. We do not state them here, because they follow the job.
Booking, rescheduling and cancellation are arranged directly with us. Tell us as early as you can and we will do the same for you.
These are the terms for reading this website. They are short because the site does very little: it publishes information and it has one contact form.
- What is on it
Descriptions of what we do, guides to what work typically costs, answers to questions we are asked often, and ways to reach us. We keep it accurate and up to date to the best of our ability, and we will correct a mistake as soon as we know about it — tell us if you find one.
- The advice here is general
Everything on this site is written for the general case. Your building, your pipes and your equipment are specific. Read the guides as background, not as instructions for your own property, and call us before you act on anything you are unsure about.
- Safety content
Where we describe what to do in an emergency — shutting off water, what to do if you smell gas — follow the emergency instruction first and read the rest afterwards. If you smell gas, leave the building and call the gas emergency line or 911 from outside. Nothing on this website replaces calling emergency services.
- Not legal, insurance or engineering advice
We are plumbers and gas fitters. Nothing here is legal advice, insurance advice or a structural engineering opinion, and nothing here should be given to an insurer or a strata council as though it were a professional assessment of your property.
- Our content
The words, photographs, drawings and design on this site belong to us. You are welcome to read them, print them for yourself and link to any page. Please do not republish them as your own — ask us instead, and we will usually say yes.
- Links to other sites
Where we link to somebody else — a manufacturer, a regulator, a utility — we link because we think it is useful. We do not control those sites and we are not responsible for what they say or do.
- Availability
We try to keep the site up, and we do not promise it will never be down. We may change, move or remove any page at any time. If a page you relied on disappears, ask us and we will send you what was on it.
- Fair use
Please do not try to break into the site, overload it, scrape it wholesale, or use the contact form to send anything unlawful or abusive. The form is there so that people can ask us for help.
These terms are governed by the law of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply in it, and the courts of British Columbia are where any dispute about them is decided.
If a court decides that part of this page cannot be enforced, the rest of it still stands.
We may update these terms. The date at the top of the page changes when we do, and the version published here is the one that applies.
